Catena (Latin for “Chain” or “Link”), the Business Connections Network based in Nottingham is celebrating the launch of a franchise model with the appointment of Caroline Jackson to manage the pilot operation in Manchester.

Managing Director of Catena, Claire Bicknell commented “I’m thrilled that Caroline will be Catena’s first franchisee. Caroline has been involved with Catena from its early days and is one of the founding members from our Crowdfunding campaign 4 years ago. Caroline’s experience in business across a number of sectors will be invaluable in helping us develop and grow our franchise programme”
Caroline Jackson is MD of Global iLabs as well as being an executive director and investor in a number of other businesses.

Caroline Jackson commented “I have benefitted from being a member of the Catena Network, both as a supplier and a consumer and I completely understand the power of business relationships leading to other opportunities. By combining my own relocation to Manchester with Catena’s franchise launch it seemed an opportunity too good to miss, both to take on a new business opportunity and to continue to invest in the growth of Catena.”

Claire Bicknell added “The whole ethos of the Catena Network is to help business people develop relationships with businesses they would like to know better; and we are particularly keen to facilitate business introductions across regions, which was the purpose of developing our franchise model. I feel very strongly that it’s time to go beyond networking, in the traditional sense – high volume, superficial business introductions; getting your business card in the hands of as many people as possible! As I talk with business owners and see how they respond to the Catena approach, I realise there is a real appetite out there for more authentic business connections.”

“Manchester is experiencing a lot of investment and growth right now and we feel we can make valuable connections for our existing members and attract new ones who see the benefit of collaborating outside their immediate area”

Caroline Jackson added “We have already held a couple of events, which have been well received, but importantly the connection between businesses in different regions is already underway as the events have also been attended by Catena members from the North East as well as the East Midlands”

Claire Bicknell continued “As well as launching our franchise in Manchester, Caroline will be spearheading our Franchisee Development plan, particularly from a user perspective prior to further area launches in 2019. “
